 | He was a member of F.O.P #25, Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, NSA, KYSA, National and Kentucky Association of School Resource Officers, "Bad to the Bone" Motorcycle Club, and various quartet singing groups. Survivors include wife, Gail Curry; mother, Barbara Elam; children, Dana McAlmont (Stephen), Ivory Mitchell, Kimberly Stanton, Tony Vincent, Justin West and Quavause Beverly; sister, Felicia Byrd; brothers, Tommie Roper and Barry Lee; four grandchildren; three God-children; and a host of aunts, uncles, and other relatives. Funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday at King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church, 1620 Anderson St., with burial in Green Meadows Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Friday at Third Central United Christian Church, 3900 W. Broadway. Arrangements entrusted to A.D. Porter & Sons Funeral Home, 1300 W. Chestnut St. |

Kentucky statutes define a SRO as a sworn law enforcement officer who has specialized training to work with youth at a school site. These SROs serve in a variety of roles, including law enforcement officer, law-related educator, problem-solver, and community liaison.
